The NeuroVISION-Cardiac pilot study aims to determine the feasibility of a large study to address the association between the incidence of covert and clinical strokes following a cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery with prevalence of in-hospital post-operative delirium and cognitive decline at discharge, and to assess resource requirements.

Primary endpoint:

The intention of the pilot study was to determine feasibility of a larger study in terms of:

  • Recruitment
  • Rate of research
  • MRI completed per week at Hamilton General Hospital
  • Number lost to follow-up.
