Andre Lamy
PHRI senior scientist Andre Lamy took part at this year’s Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) Annual Meeting held in New Orleans, US.
Lamy presented preliminary findings from an individual patient data meta‑analysis of 9,325 patients drawn from three major randomized trials, including the landmark CORONARY study. The analysis compared short, intermediate and long‑term outcomes of off‑pump versus on‑pump coronary artery bypass grafting. Early results showed no significant differences in major outcomes between the two approaches across most patient groups, suggesting that both techniques are safe and effective.
