We pride ourselves at stay abreast of all the leading-edge technologies and practices at PHRI, and that includes how we handle data standards.

We are proud Platinum members of the global Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium (CDISC), and we sent two PHRI employees this week to CDISC training in Austin, Texas.

Xiumei Yang, Biometrics Programming Coordinator, Statistics department, spent two full days attending SDTM Theory & Application Training Courses.

Femy Vadakken, a Research Coordinator in our Global Health research program, attended CDISC for Newcomers, and CDASH fundamentals and implementation.

“I learned a lot from the training, as well as from the people I met there,” says Yang. “I look forward to applying the knowledge to our PHRI studies.”

“It was a great experience attending the training and meeting people from clinical research organizations and the pharmaceutical industry, most of whom have implemented CDASH standards,” says Vadakken.

Yang and Vadakken both thank PHRI’s Research Development and Education Advisor, Kirsten Grubic, for her assistance in arranging their training.
