The Promise and Pitfalls of Stepped Wedge Cluster Randomized Trials

Dr. Monica Taljaard, Senior Scientist, Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, and Associate Professor, Epidemiology and Community Medicine, University of Ottawa, gave the Janice Pogue Lectureship on the topic of the Promise and Pitfalls of Stepped Wedge Cluster Randomized Trials.

As part of the unique new format of the Janice Pogue Lectureship in Biostatistics this year, Dr. Taljaard was preceded by Shun Fu Lee, PhD, a statistical coordinator at PHRI, who presented Introduction to Cluster Randomized Trials, also recorded:

The annual Janice Pogue Lectureship in Biostatistics was launched in 2017 to honour the memory of Janice Pogue, an exceptional statistician who created the statistical group at the Population Health Research Institute where she worked for 22 years, and as a faculty member at McMaster University’s then named Department of Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics. Janice was a role model for research staff, faculty colleagues and students, and in many other organizations throughout the world. Her untimely death in 2016 was a major loss for PHRI, McMaster University, and the international biostatistics/clinical trials research community.
