Dr. Walsh is a Nephrologist and Assistant Professor at McMaster University and St. Joseph’s Healthcare. He earned his M.D. and MSc (Epidemiology) from the University of Calgary, his PhD in Health Research Methods from McMaster University and did research fellowships at the University of Cambridge (UK) and McMaster University. He holds a Kidney Research Scientist Core Education and National Training (KRESCENT) Program New Investigator award through the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and the Kidney Foundation of Canada. Dr. Walsh has been awarded several honors including multiple Top Abstract awards from the Canadian Society of Nephrology, the Chalmers Prize from the Society for Clinical Trials and the Detweiller Traveling Scholar Award from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. His research activities are in the areas of the treatment of patients who require dialysis, severe glomerular disease, and perioperative acute kidney injury. He has published over 70 papers and 2 book chapters.
