Jason Roberts

Jason Roberts joins PHRI as a Scientist, where he is collaborating with Jeff Healey and Stuart Connolly on the arrhythmia research team, as well as with Gui Pare and his team at GMEL as his interests focus on the genetics of cardiac arrhythmias, and evaluating the clinical utility of new drugs and gene-based therapies as treatments for both rare and common forms of cardiac arrhythmias. Jason is a clinical cardiac electrophysiologist at Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS) and an Associate Professor, Dept. of Medicine, McMaster University.

Aris Katsanos

We welcome a new PHRI Investigator joining the brain health and stroke research team: Aristeidis (Aris) Katsanos, a neurologist at HHS and a stroke/vascular neurology fellow at McMaster. His academic focus is on the evidence-based evaluation of novel therapeutic approaches on acute stroke treatment and secondary stroke prevention. His research study on optimal blood pressure management after endovascular stroke treatment (DETECT) is supported by the New Investigator Fund from HHS.

Hira Mian

The cancer survivorship research team at PHRI welcomes Hira Mian as an Associate Investigator. She is a hematologist at the Juravinski Cancer Centre in Hamilton and an Assistant Professor, Department of Oncology, McMaster. Hira’s research interests centre around clinical trials and health services and outcomes, with a focus on disparities in access to care and qualify of life for patients with myeloma.

Amit Garg

The perioperative and surgery research team at PHRI welcomes Amit Garg as an Associate Scientist. He is a nephrologist at the London Health Sciences Centre in London, Ontario, a Professor of Medicine, Epidemiology and Biostatistics, at Western University, with a cross-appointment in the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence and Impact, McMaster. Amit has collaborated for years with PJ Devereaux and other clinician-scientists at PHRI, including on the CORONARY study.
