The Canadian Institutes for Health Research (CIHR) and the Canadian Cardiovascular Society (CCS) have selected PHRI Senior Scientist PJ Devereaux as the recipient of their 2021 Distinguished Lecturer Award in Cardiovascular Sciences.
PJ Devereaux is a Professor in the Departments of Health Research Methods, Evidence and Impact (HEI), and Medicine, at McMaster University, President of the Society of Perioperative Research and Care (SPRC), and leader of the perioperative and surgery research group at PHRI.
The annual CIHR-CCS award recipient demonstrates significant impact and advancement in their field of research, both nationally and internationally, as well as relevance of their research to a clinical setting. In addition, award recipients have demonstrated impact on the development of young scientists and highly qualified personnel through mentorship and training.
PJ Devereaux will receive the award at the CCS Congress in October 2021, where he will give a keynote lecture as part of the scientific program at the congress (which will be a virtual event again this year).
