PHRI Senior Scientists Stuart Connolly, PJ Devereaux, John Eikelboom and Salim Yusuf are again in the top 1% by citations for the field of Clinical Medicine and 2020, according to the Highly Cited Researchers: Web of Science list. All four of them have made the list at least three years running.

They are among 18 researchers at McMaster University to make this year’s list, including Paul Moayyedi, an Associate Senior Scientist at PHRI and principal investigator of the IMAGINE study. Last year’s list had 14 McMaster researchers.

In all, 6,167 researchers from more than 60 countries and regions were named to the 2020 list, compiled by Clarivate Analytics. Their names are identified from the publications that rank in the top 1% by citations—work that is frequently referenced by other researchers—for field and publication year in the Web of Science™ citation index.

Canada retains its rank of sixth among all nations as home of the most highly cited researchers. A total of 195 Canadian researchers make up 3.1% of researchers globally on the 2020 list.
