Overview

We will undertake a large randomized controlled trial to determine the efficacy of colchicine for the prevention of new onset AF in patients undergoing thoracic surgery.

Study Design

Multi-centre, blinded, randomized controlled trial

Primary Endpoint

To determine whether the administration of colchicine compared with placebo reduces the occurrence of perioperative atrial fibrillation / atrial flutter (AF) within 14 days of randomization.
