Overview

To evaluate surgical left atrial occlusion in patients undergoing cardiac surgery requiring cardiopulmonary bypass and are at elevated risk of atrial fibrillation and stroke; the study will test feasibility for a large scale trial aimed at reducing stroke rates in CAD patients at high- risk for stroke.

Study Design

Randomized controlled, multicenter, open label, study of surgical left atrial occlusion.
