Your talent is needed in a growing, leading-edge genetic and molecular epidemiology laboratory based in Hamilton, Ontario. This is a temporary (1 year) position, part-time: minimum 22.5 hours a week.
As a Research Lab Technologist, you will:
- Conduct a variety of lab tests and procedures with accuracy and efficiency in accordance with the policies and procedures of CRLB-GMEL
- Operate and maintain research lab equipment according to our procedures
- At times, required to design and carry out special projects and experiments to validate new methods or technologies
- Recognize failure, troubleshoot, take corrective action, maintain documentation of lab equipment, and more
- Understand the practice and theory of quality control in laboratory medicine
- Perform quality control and document QC results according to our procedures
- Proficiency with QC for genomics platforms is preferred
Qualifications include: MLT, BSc, or equivalent science degree; demonstrated ability to use problem-solving and critical thinking techniques.
