The DANCE Pilot trial will compare the safety of direct oral anticoagulants (DOAC) versus warfarin in the early period (30 days) after cardiac surgery in patients with an indication for oral anticoagulation.

The objective of this trial is to determine the feasibility of conducting a larger trial.

The SUNDANCE trial – which is a sub-study of the DANCE trial – focuses on subclinical valve thrombosis in patients with bioprosthetic aortic valve replacement.
