SPECT MINS

Official Title

Non-Invasive Risk Stratification with Stress Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography in Patients with Mydocardial Injury following Non-Cardiac Surgery

Status

Ongoing

Overview

Patients with evidence of myocardial injury following non-cardiac surgery (MINS) are at increased risk of death post-operatively. Risk stratification and selective revascularization of high risk individuals has been shown to reduce cardiovascular events in the non-perioperative MI setting, however, its utility in MINS is not established. This is a prospective pilot study to examine the utility of single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) in individual with MINS.

To examine the feasibility of conducting a prospective observational cohort study examining the prognostic utility of SPECT-MPI in participants with MINS.
