Overview

The aims of this pilot study are: (a) to characterize early effects of Roux-en-Y surgery on liver fat content in obese patients with type 2 diabetes; (b) to study the associations between liver fat content and glycemic parameters during perioperative period; (c) to assess the feasibility of recruiting study subjects and performing MRI imaging in this patient population.

Primary outcome – change in AUC glucose 0-150min from 0 to 4 weeks.
