Dr Casanova is the Manager, Statistics at the Population Health Research Institute. Amparo earned her PhD from the Department of Statistics, University of Barcelona, Spain, after a number of years of medical practice (primary care and occupational health). She previously held the position of Assistant Professor of Biostatistics at the Department of Preventive Medicine and Public Health, University of Barcelona, and at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto. Dr Casanova has been involved in the design and analysis of clinical trials, observational studies and knowledge translation programs, authoring numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals. Her areas of expertise include Multivariate Distributions, Multivariate Analysis, Longitudinal Modelling and Dependence Concepts.
