Shockless IMPLant Evaluation

The trial will test the hypothesis that ICD implantation without defibrillation testing is non-inferior to implantation with testing against the composite endpoint of ineffective first appropriate clinical shock or arrhythmic death.

Study Design: Active Control, Parallel Assignment, Randomized, Single Blind (Subject), Supportive Care.

Intervention: ICD implantation without defibrillation vs. implantation with testing.

Length of Study: 3.5 years

# of Patients: 2,500

Patient Populations: Ventricular Fibrillation, Ventricular Tachycardia.
